Firmware Update version 5.4

Please follow these steps to update the firmware on our Prologix GPIB-USB Controller. See Release Notes for changes in this and previous versions.

Note that all controller settings are reset to factory defaults after an update.

  • Download update package and unzip it to a folder on your Windows PC.

  • Update firmware 
    • Disconnect all cables from Prologix GPIB-USB controller.
    • Connect Prologix GPIB-USB controller to PC using a USB cable. Do not connect the controller to instruments when updating firmware.
    • Start a command prompt on the PC and change directory to the folder where you unzipped the update package
    • Type pxupdate.exe <port>, where <port> is the virtual COM port created by the USB driver. For example: pxupdate.exe COM4
    • Wait until update is complete, which could take about 30 seconds.
    • Recycle power by disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable.

  • Verify updated firmware
    • Connect to your controller using HyperTerminal.
    • Type ++ver and verify the version number has been updated:

  • You have successfully updated the firmware of your Prologix GPIB-USB controller!
